"A true race-car layout
demands a transaxle in line with the engine for optimum weight distribution,
traction and handling"
The Brooke was designed to provide the purest driving experience
unrivalled by any mass produced vehicle. Through clever, simple yet light and
strong design ideas the Double R has developed into a car that in the words of
top motoring journalists is 'already rubbing shoulders with the best of
them'.
The Brooke concept originates with talented designer
Toby Sutton. Virtually all cars were built for the export market making the
Brooke a rare sight on Britain's roads. After a number of years in production
the design was redeveloped from the ground up over a three year period in the
UK. 2006 has seen possibly the most significant year in Brooke Cars history
with the launch of the new car at Autosport International. Having received
critical acclaim from all the major magazines and press throughout 2006 and
into 2007 the Double R has certainly stamped its mark on the sports car market.
"Combining
classically beautiful lines with state of the art automotive components from
the very best in the industry".
The chassis has been designed
using the latest Solidworks software. All chassis tubes are Laser cut and
profiled to intersect with the next and welded by experienced automotive
welders in CAD designed jigs to produce a accurate, repeatable and strong
chassis.
At the heart of the Brooke is a hand built engine producing
up to and over 300bhp. The Ford Duratec represents the latest road car
technology from the blue oval supplied direct to Cosworth where it is built to
their exacting standards. Our engines are assembled to the highest standards by
the same technicians who build the Cosworth Formula One engines and are
designed for maximum performance with excellent drivability and reliability.
All engines are then run on cosworth's dyno before delivery to Brooke Cars.
With outputs of 200 and 260 bhp available from the 2.3 Duratec and over 300 bhp
from our supercharged 2.0 Duratec combined with a weight of 550kg the
performance potential is undeniably.

"The suspension
has been designed using the latest analysis software for optimum geometry
control and set up with feedback from some of Britain's top racing
drivers".
Fully adjustable for camber and caster with
adjustable dampers for serious track enthusiasts, the Brooke comes with our own
settings that are a result of much testing however it is easily tuned for all
customers and situations whether the car is to be used for road, track or both.
Advanced components are used throughout the suspension system and include cast
uprights front and rear with aero section wishbones. Utilising a mix of poly
bushes and spherical rod-ends for adjustment and employing Lightweight and
powerful braking systems.
Our very own adjustable pedal box has been
the subject of much development. Manufactured using CNC and laser cutting
processes, it is the only system available that requires no tools to adjust,
and means the Double R is useable by all. Simply lift the bar at your heel and
push or pull.
The same attention to detail applies to our steering
system. Employing a custom made column tailored to the customers exact
specification with a quick release steering wheel that is both simple to use
and an added security feature. This assembly is linked to our custom made alloy
steering rack that is available in a number of ratios.
"Race derived
instruments with programmable displays"
STACK produce arguably
the best single unit display on the market today - which is why we chose it for
the Double R.
It offers an easy to read display for the tachometer and
an LCD readout for all other displays
pure race car design. Key max/min
parameters are recorded along with programmable warning settings, even a
facility to record lap times is an option. The Starter button continues the
race car feel whilst a key and immobilizer complete the security of every
car.

"Did we mention a power to weight ratio
exceeding that of a Lamborghini Murcielago and Porsche GT2?"
Full composite bodywork clothes the impressive chassis. The
seating tub available in carbon /Kevlar is bonded to, and forms an integral
part of the chassis design. The seats give a superb driving position and
lateral support, combined with adjustable pedals the Double R can accommodate
all sizes of driver.
